Kristin Fisher was hired by CNN on July 20, 2021. She is CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent. In that role, she covers everything from NASA and the recently created Space Force, to commercial space companies and the advent of space tourism. Kristin was her mother was one of NASA astronauts and an enthusiastic space lover, grew up immersed within the space industry. She served for five years working as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy under the Biden and Trump administrations. Through that time she covered the 2020 presidential campaign, two impeachment trials, two efforts to stop the corona virus pandemic, as well as two different administrations' efforts. The president of the time Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan in a trip that was highly restricted. Kristin was a fixture in the regional news market of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for nearly a decade before being hired by the CBS network. Kristin was the recipient of the Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. as an CBS affiliate's one-man band reporter. Kristin utilized her knowledge in front of the camera to launch Field Mouse Films. The company was a specialist in documentary films and was a favorite of corporate clients like Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism at Boston University. Her husband and three year-old daughter reside in Washington, D.C.
